Introduction

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Planning Engineer to join our Core Central Function team. In this key role, you will develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules for global capital projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. You will provide schedule insights to project managers and leadership to support proactive, data-driven decisions.

What are you going to do

  • Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules (Level 1-3) for global projects using Primavera P6, incorporating all project phases from initiation to close-out.
  • Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk analysis, and scenario modeling to identify potential delays and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and discipline leads to gather progress updates, validate remaining work, and ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Generate and distribute comprehensive schedule reports, dashboards, and performance metrics (SPI, CPI, Trends) for weekly and monthly project reviews.
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams globally to ensure schedule integration and alignment.
  • Monitor and report on key milestones, float, and baseline deviations, providing clear and concise explanations for variances.
  • Support the change management process by assessing the impact of potential changes on the project schedule and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's project controls procedures and best practices across all assigned projects.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning and scheduling standards within the Central Functions team.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Planning/Scheduling Engineer, preferably within the oil & gas, energy, or major infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience working on large-scale, multi-million-dollar EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Required: Expert-level proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6. Proficiency in the Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, project controls methodologies, and earned value management (EVM).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex schedule data to all levels of management.
