Sr. Structure Engineer
Vacancy Number: TR-262151
Plays a critical role in the successful execution of large-scale EPC projects in the oil and gas sector, particularly within offshore LNG and FPSO developments. Responsible for delivering robust, safe, and cost-effective structural engineering solutions, in compliance with international design standards, project specifications, and classification society requirements. The engineer will oversee the design integrity of topside modules, hull structures, and subsea interfaces, ensuring seamless coordination across multidisciplinary teams and engineering contractors.
Working closely with project managers, construction teams, and third-party vendors, provides technical leadership from the FEED phase through detailed design, fabrication, and offshore installation. A strong understanding of offshore structural systems, including load-out, transportation, lifting, and in-place analysis, is essential. This role requires proactive risk management, review of engineering deliverables, and mentoring of junior engineers to uphold design quality and execution excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead and oversee the structural engineering design and analysis of offshore facilities, including FPSO topsides, hull structures, and LNG modules, ensuring compliance with international codes and project specifications.
Prepare and review detailed structural calculations, design reports, drawings, and specifications in accordance with project requirements and client standards.
Coordinate with multidiscipline engineering teams (e.g., piping, mechanical, naval architecture) to ensure integration of structural design within the overall project scope.
Liaise with fabrication yards and construction teams to provide technical support and resolve structural design-related issues during construction and installation phases.
Conduct structural integrity assessments and perform finite element analysis (FEA), lifting and transportation analysis, and fatigue analysis as required.
Review and approve subcontractor deliverables and interface with third-party verification bodies or classification societies as needed.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical direction and quality control for all structural deliverables.
Ensure all structural activities are executed in accordance with the project schedule, budget, and HSE standards.
Participate in technical meetings with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to address design challenges and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university; Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in offshore oil & gas projects, particularly OLNG or FPSO.
Proven experience working with international EPC companies or clients on large-scale offshore developments.
Proficient in using structural analysis and design software such as SACS, STAAD.Pro, and SESAM.
Solid understanding of international design codes and standards (API, AISC, DNV, ISO, etc.) applicable to offshore structures.
Experience in structural design of topsides, jackets, modules, and subsea structures.
Familiarity with fabrication and installation methods for offshore structures, including constructability and load-out analysis.
Strong ability to produce and review structural deliverables such as design calculations, drawings, MTOs, and technical reports.
Excellent communication and coordination skills to interface with clients, internal disciplines, and third-party stakeholders.
Able to lead or mentor junior engineers and contribute to quality assurance and technical integrity of the engineering scope.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Willing to be assigned to project site offices or travel for offshore surveys when required.
