Introduction

Brunel is partnering with a leading multinational EPC company to source a highly skilled Lead Marine Engineer for an exciting oil & gas project. If you're a seasoned expert in structural and marine design with deep experience in FEED and EPC phases

What are you going to do 

  • Lead the end-to-end marine and structural engineering scope for LNG-related projects, from FEED through detailed design and EPC execution, ensuring all deliverables meet project milestones and technical standards.
  • Develop and review structural design philosophies, specifications, drawings, and calculations for offshore/onshore marine structures, including jetties, wharfs, mooring dolphins, and loading platforms.
  • Ensure strict adherence to international and project-specific codes and standards (e.g., API, AISC, Eurocode, DNV, ISO), and proactively address gaps or inconsistencies during design reviews.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary technical input and interface management with piping, mechanical, civil, and naval architecture teams to ensure seamless integration across engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of junior and mid-level structural engineers, fostering knowledge transfer and maintaining design quality and consistency.
  • Drive innovation in modularization and constructability, integrating structural engineering best practices to optimize cost, schedule, and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise regularly with project management, procurement, construction, and QA/QC teams to align on engineering deliverables, resolve technical challenges, and support fabrication and installation activities.
  • Contribute to project risk assessments and value engineering studies, identifying opportunities to enhance performance while ensuring compliance and structural integrity.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • At least 10 years in marine and structural disciplines with 1 full project completed from FEED to EPC
  • Minimum 5 years as a Lead Structural Engineer
  • Solid knowledge of modularization, structural design, and review of marine structures
  • Proven experience in LNG plant projects and structural design through all project phases
  • Proficient in SACS, USFOS, GRLWEAP, MOSES, STAAD Pro and other relevant software
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver on tight schedules
