Responsible for ensuring all projects under the Major Projects and groups employ and adhere to all SHES requirements, providing functional leadership and consistency across all projects in HSE related activities such as procedures, best practices, resources, lessons learned, incident management & investigation, worker welfare, etc.
Will have functional oversight over all project activities and liaise with Corporate HSEQ and other adjacent SHES organizations (e.g., subsurface, operations, etc.)
Goal is to eliminate all incidents across MP projects
Massive size projects are executed concurrently, each of which has unique challenges in terms of execution risks that include heavy lifts, hot works, offshore personnel transfers, dredging and tie ins in areas that have extensive brownfield components and stringent requirements
Massive size labor in RLC and offshore as projects are executed, reaching ~100,000 workers, which will require proper provisions for hygiene, food, welfare, safety, medical and recreational facilities
Requires frequent presence and visits to various project sites and functions.
What are you going to do
Define and execute the Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES) strategy for the MP & projects, embedding a culture of operational excellence and risk prevention across all tiers of leadership.
Senior leadership SHES oversight, ensuring alignment, accountability, and performance delivery across and multiple Project Management Teams.
Steward strategic incident management, leading the governance of high-risk and complex investigations, and ensuring systemic learning is embedded into organizational practices.
Direct the deployment of lessons learned and best practices to establish a unified framework that drives continuous improvement and sustained performance across all projects.
Oversee multi-Groups -level performance measurement, defining and managing leading and lagging indicators to ensure transparent reporting and data-driven executive decision-making.
Represent MP & SHES at the highest levels with Senior Leadership, shareholders, regulators, and external stakeholders, reinforcing trust and alignment.
Drive cross-project integration and harmonization of SHES processes, ensuring consistency, scalability, and resilience across six concurrent mega-projects.
Champion governance in SHES strategy, setting key focus areas, KPIs, and communications that align operational execution with shareholder expectations.
Own the Leadership Strategic Element of the strategy.
Strengthen organizational interfaces and leadership capacity, engaging senior project and corporate leaders to anticipate challenges and deliver coordinated solutions.
Lead the MP and custodian of Safety, Health, and Environment mandate, ensuring best standards are upheld while enabling safe, timely, and efficient project delivery.
Essential skills and knowledge
Bachelors degree in sciences, safety, health, environment, security, or Engineering
15 years’ experience in SHES in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 5 years of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
3 years in fourth-line senior leadership or equivalent senior leadership roles with National or International Oil & Gas Companies, or other multinational corporations
Leadership role, in the last five years, leading SHES management for world class mega-projects across FEED and EPC phases, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant project delivery.
Experience with Oil & Gas companies, Contractors, or Service Companies.
Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, at senior Leadership level.
Recognized industry authority in SHES management systems and governance, with advanced knowledge of international standards, IOC standards and the ability to translate them into Mega projects organization practices.
High level of proficiency in written and spoken English
Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
