Introduction

Brunel has an exciting opportunity for an Operational Improvements Lead supporting our client who are a leading mining company.

This contract position will work remotely with business travel to New Orleans, Louisiana.

What are you going to do

  • Coordinate with functional and project stakeholders to identify operational improvement opportunities and develop improvement initiative execution plans to promote the culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives through scoping, design, and implementation leveraging data to support metric-based decision making.
  • Consult with functional managers and subject matter expertise to plan and refine improvement initiative design.
  • Develop and document processes, procedures, and guidelines to support improvement initiatives.
  • Develop training material and host training sessions to facilitate implementation of improvement initiative across project office functions.
  • Coordinate with senior management to develop and maintain improvement initiative priority and strategic vision alignment.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • High School diploma or GED AND seven (7) years related operations, engineering, supply chain, construction, or project design office experience, including supervisory or management experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field AND five (5) years related operations, engineering, supply chain, construction, or project design office experience, including supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable plan.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to non-technical audiences.

Ability to successfully lead a team of indirect reports through initiative planning, development, and implementation
