Introduction

The Onshore Mechanical Engineer will support the design, construction, and commissioning of onshore gas processing and supporting infrastructure for a major deep-water gas and condensate development. This includes overseeing mechanical systems such as piping, rotating/static equipment, and utility systems, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and fit-for-purpose delivery in accordance with project specifications and international standard.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mechanical engineering support for onshore facilities including pipelines, gas processing units, condensate stabilization, utilities, and flare systems.

  • Review and validate mechanical design deliverables: datasheets, P&IDs, equipment specs, piping layout, stress analysis, and construction drawings.

  • Coordinate with offshore, subsea, and pipeline interface teams to align on mechanical scope integration.

  • Evaluate vendor bids and assist in technical bid analysis and equipment selection.

  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and support equipment inspections.

  • Monitor mechanical construction and installation activities at the fabrication yard or site to ensure compliance with drawings, QA/QC, and HSE standards.

  • Participate in commissioning and start-up activities; develop procedures and punch lists.

  • Provide troubleshooting and resolution support for mechanical issues arising during execution and early operations.

  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, budget constraints, and reporting requirements.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in mechanical engineering within oil & gas EPC projects
  • At least 10 years as an Owner/Operator Company representative on onshore or nearshore gas processing projects
  • Deep understanding of rotating/static equipment, piping systems, and engineering standards (ASME, API, ISO)
  • Full project cycle experience: FEED, EPC, and Commissioning/Start-Up (CSU)
  • Familiarity with Indonesian regulatory and permitting processes is an advantage
  • Fluency in English; Bahasa Indonesia proficiency preferred
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites and vendor locations as needed
  • Experience with deepwater gas project interfaces involving subsea and offshore systems
  • Knowledge of LNG pre-treatment, condensate stabilization, and high-pressure gas facilities
  • Skilled in engineering software: AutoPIPE, Caesar II, and Navisworks
  • Strong analytical, risk management, and decision-making capabilities
