Introduction

  • Responsible for follow up and coordination of all logistics operations related to Offplot projects in conjunction with the Contractors Logistics Team and with port authorities.
  • In initial stage the resource will be mainly involved within the RLIC port dredging works.
  • Follow up manifests, customs documentation, dangerous goods declarations, and shipping schedules; liaise with port and customs authorities for vessel clearances and scheduling.
  • Audit and monitor contractor logistics plans; ensure compliance with procedures, port regulations, and contractors’ logistic control plans.
  • Coordinate logistics interfaces: construction, supply chain, port authority, interface engineering teams, and offshore execution groups.
  • Contingency planning and supply chain flexibility: adapting to vessel delays, customs hold-ups, port congestion, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Stakeholder alignment: requiring close coordination with supply, material control, interface, and contract teams to align delivery schedules and routes.
  • Verifying contractor submissions against dredging plans and site data.

What are you going to do

  • Develop logistics plans including transport, customs, warehousing, site delivery schedules.
  • Liaise with marine/freight forwarders, customs agents, and suppliers to coordinate shipments.
  • Manage customs clearance, import/export documentation, bond procedures, and local regulatory compliance.
  • Support procurement and construction teams by tracking material delivery status and resolving delays.
  • Ensure Contractor’s timely development and effective implementation of Project Unloading, Transportation and Logistics Systems, Procedures, and Detailed schedules.
  • Closely monitor and audit contractor’s relevant implementation plan.
  • Ensure Contractor has in place an efficient process for the clearance of shipping documentation for customs clearance.
  • Coordinate closely with Port authorities in Doha and RLC for regulations, procedures and working schedule details.
  • Understand limitations and constraints of port facilities and manpower to assess and provide proactive suggestions to improve the unloading and transportation operation of the Contractor.
  • Optimize warehousing, inventory, storage, and site lay-down areas.
  • Coordinate personnel logistics for staffing mobilization and demobilization.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs, control costs, and prepare periodic reports and forecasts.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
  • 8 years experience in business related function or discipline, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Experience with Oil & Gas Companies, contractors, subcontractors, vendors or service companies involved in the oil and gas industry.
  • Familiarity with international shipping, customs rules, bonded storage, and Middle East procedures.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Capability to work under pressure and communicate effectively across teams and vendors.
  • Fluent in written and oral English.
  • Strong leadership skills, personal integrity, experience guiding and assisting contractor teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, coordination and planning skills.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills and ability to interact / interface at all levels.
  • Good mediation skills including conflict resolution, problem-solving, creative thinking, influencing and empathy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc.
