Introduction

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented E&I Superintendent to oversee and manage all E&I construction activities for an E-House project within a large-scale EPC Oil & Gas development. This role is responsible for supervising on-site execution, ensuring work is carried out in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and HSE requirements.

The E&I Superintendent will coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure that installation of electrical and instrumentation systems-including power distribution, control panels, cabling, instrumentation, and related interfaces-is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards. A strong understanding of modular E-House fabrication, integration, and site installation is essential.

This position demands leadership, strong technical knowledge, and hands-on experience in managing subcontractors, conducting inspections, resolving technical issues, and maintaining progress reporting on site.

What are you going to do

  • Supervision and Execution:

    • Oversee all site Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) activities related to the E-House scope, including installation, termination, testing, and commissioning.

    • Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, standards (IEC, NEC, etc.), and HSE regulations.

  • Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop and monitor daily/weekly work plans and schedules in coordination with the construction manager and other discipline superintendents.

    • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless execution.

  • E-House Scope Management:

    • Manage the integration of packaged equipment such as MV/LV switchgears, UPS, MCC, HVAC, fire detection systems, lighting, and cable management systems inside the E-House.

    • Supervise interface works between the E-House and external utilities (e.g., power feeders, instrumentation cabling, fiber optics).

  • Subcontractor Management:

    • Lead, monitor, and evaluate the performance of subcontractors and ensure adequate manpower, equipment, and materials are available for smooth execution.

    • Review and approve work permits, job safety analysis (JSA), and method statements prior to job execution.

  • Quality Assurance and HSE Compliance:

    • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and procedures, including inspections, red-lining/as-built drawing reviews, and test documentation.

    • Enforce HSE policies, conduct toolbox talks, and participate in safety audits and risk assessments.

  • Interface and Reporting:

    • Act as the main point of contact for E&I-related issues on site and provide regular progress updates to the Construction Manager and Project Manager.

    • Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to resolving technical or schedule conflicts.

  • Testing and Pre-Commissioning:

    • Supervise loop checks, insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, and functional testing of electrical and instrumentation systems.

    • Liaise with the commissioning team to ensure smooth handover and readiness for energization and system startup.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field (preferred, but diploma with strong experience acceptable)

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in E&I construction within EPC Oil & Gas projects

  • Proven experience handling E-House scope including installation, integration, and interface with utility systems

  • Indonesian citizenship
  • Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, NEC, API, etc.) and applicable codes

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, and cable schedules

  • Familiar with HV/LV switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, control panels, and field instrumentation

  • Experienced in managing subcontractors and multi-discipline site teams

  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills

  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and experience enforcing safety on site

  • Proficient in site reporting, progress tracking, and documentation

  • Willing to be assigned to remote site or modular fabrication yard if required

  • Experience in pre-commissioning and testing of E&I systems is a plus

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
