Introduction

Our client, a prestigious and highly regarded energy company, is seeking a experienced Deep Water Installation Engineer. This is a 12-month renewable contract offering the chance to contribute to a groundbreaking deep water subsea-to-shore dry gas field development. The role will be based in Milan with assignments aboard advanced construction vessels off the coast of Mozambique.

What are you going to do

  • Oversee installation engineering for subsea structures (e.g., manifolds, UTAs, SDUs) and tie-ins (e.g., umbilicals, rigid jumpers) within a dynamic EPCI scope.
  • Ensure safe, timely, and budget-friendly delivery of all project elements adhering to stringent quality standards.
  • Coordinate interface management between contractors and stakeholders to mitigate risks and resolve issues effectively.
  • Monitor marine spread readiness and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Contribute to engineering workstreams, monitoring key milestones during preparation, installation, and execution phases.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering large-scale EPCI contracts, particularly in deep water environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of subsea structures installation, tie-ins, and umbilical lay methodologies.
  • Strong ability to assess contractors' execution plans and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Track record in managing interfaces during complex offshore construction campaigns.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills within a diverse international team.
