Brunel’s Life Sciences team continues to add exciting talent with industry-leading expertise and a passion for people. Brunel is proud to announce the addition of Nick Burns, an experienced Business Development Manager based in Minneapolis. Nick will be focused on creating new client relationships within the Medical Devices industry.

Meet Nick Burns

Nick was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he still lives today with his wife and 3 children. He attended Saint John’s University (located in Collegeville Township, Minnesota not in New York. Common misconception.) where he majored in Business Management and played Shooting Guard for the basketball team.

Joining the Brunel Family

Nick Burns joined Brunel in mid-November as a Business Development Manager focusing on the Medical Devices industry. Very early in Nick’s tenure the entire Brunel Life Sciences team got to visit Minneapolis for the Medical Device & Manufacturing Conference and get to know him while also networking with potential clients. “It was awesome to get to meet everyone and connect that way in person”, he said of the experience.

Nick considers himself a self-starter that has thrived working remotely, but in addition to that Nick has been grateful for the wealth of resources Brunel has offered to help him get connected. Nick said, “People on the team have proactively reached out to me to get to know me. Everyone’s been extremely friendly and a lot of them have used the word ‘family’ and I appreciate that and can already feel that. We often spend as much time with our work family as our actual family, so I’ve loved that so far.”

Passion for People

The biggest reason Nick has been a part of the recruiting industry for 10+ years is because he is passionate about changing people’s lives for the better. Over his career Nick has placed over 500 people in new positions to help improve their careers. Nick said of his motivation, “it’s important for me to be an advocate for people. I’ve had strong mentors that have changed my life and so I want to flip the script and give back to others.” That passion for helping people has transitioned smoothly into the Business Development side of recruiting as well. Nick explained, “a lot of clients don’t have the same level of experience with the recruiting side so I appreciate being that coach for them, passing on my understanding of the market and helping them find the best people that they can.”
