The Control Room Operator - Water Operations is responsible for the remote monitoring and operation of water treatment, Salt Water Disposal, and water distribution systems. This role is based in a control room environment and supports continuous operations through SCADA monitoring, alarm response, coordination with field personnel, and operational data management. The position plays a critical role in maintaining system reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
* Monitor water treatment plants, Salt Water Disposal systems, and distribution networks using SCADA * Track flow rates, pressures, tank and reservoir levels, and system status
* Identify abnormal operating conditions and emerging trends
* Adjust pumps, valves, and system set points remotely to maintain operating limits * Respond to alarms and initiate corrective actions
* Escalate issues when remote resolution is not possible
* Communicate with field operators, maintenance, and I&E technicians * Dispatch field personnel for troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency response
* Support incident response and system recovery efforts
* Record operational data, alarms, incidents, and maintenance activities * Maintain accurate shift logs and handover documentation
* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
* Ensure operations comply with safety, environmental, and water quality standards * Follow emergency response procedures during system failures or contamination events
* Adhere to approved operating procedures and control room protocols
* Participate in training, drills, and system upgrades * Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and response times
* Experience in control room or remote operations environments * Hands on experience using SCADA systems for monitoring and control
* Knowledge of water systems, utilities, or Salt Water Disposal operations
* Familiarity with pumps, valves, instrumentation, and field sensors * Basic understanding of PLC and DCS systems
Skills
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
* Ability to make timely decisions during alarms or upset conditions
* Experience supporting water treatment facilities or utilities operations
* Oil and gas, midstream, or industrial operations background
* Previous 24/7 control room or shift operations experience
