Introduction

Maintenance Contracts Engineer - LNG Plant (12-Month Renewable Contract, based in Milan)

Play a key role in a high-performing LNG production environment by managing and optimising all maintenance contracts. This position is critical to ensuring plant reliability, operational efficiency, and the safe execution of maintenance and inspection activities across a world-class facility.

What are you going to do

  • Manage maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, HSE policies, and operational KPIs.

  • Coordinate contract planning and execution for Maintenance and other departments.

  • Monitor contractor performance, invoicing, progress, and expenditures against budgets.

  • Liaise with Procurement and Contracts teams to prepare tenders, evaluate offers, and recommend qualified contractors.

  • Develop and review technical scopes of work for new contracts or modifications.

  • Track project-phase work packages and operational contract deliverables.

  • Coordinate spare parts and materials procurement, including expediting and logistics.

  • Conduct regular contractor meetings and reviews to maintain alignment with plant objectives.

  • Ensure reporting of maintenance activities through CMMS and other tracking tools.

  • Promote a safe working environment and adherence to HSE standards, contributing to continuous improvement.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Rotating, Electrical, Instrumentation/Control Engineering, or Business.

  • Minimum 15 years' experience in maintenance within oil, gas, or petrochemical industries.

  • Minimum 10 years in senior maintenance positions and 7 years in contracts management.

  • Strong knowledge of LNG and oil & gas equipment, maintenance practices, and large rotating equipment (turbines, compressors, pumps, expanders) and LNG loading arms.

  • Experience with SAP PM (CMIMS) and contracts communication platforms such as Ariba.

  • Excellent technical, organisational, and coordination skills.

  • Strong written and spoken English.
