Introduction

Our client, a prominent international operator in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Senior Engineering Specialist (Rotating) to contribute to a significant LNG project. This long-term contract position, starting in July 2026, is based in Milan, Italy, with potential opportunities to transition to Mozambique on a rotational basis. This role involves working in a residential, office-based environment and focuses exclusively on LNG producing plants.

What are you going to do

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analyses and risk assessments for rotating equipment failures, providing engineering proposals to enhance reliability.
  • Provide technical expertise for maintenance operations, ensuring minimal cost while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
  • Oversee and validate preventive maintenance plans and adjust frequencies for rotating equipment as necessary.
  • Supervise a team of rotating engineering specialists and set annual objectives for team members, ensuring timely reviews and appraisals.
  • Ensure the availability of spare parts and materials for maintenance activities while adhering to quality control standards.
  • Collaborate on technical work scopes, review contractor documentation, and ensure compliance with contracts, safety, and performance standards.
  • Promote improvements in equipment safety, production efficiency, and compliance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor of higher education in Instrumentation or Electronic Engineering or equivalent with international standard and solid experience
  • Minimum 20 years specific maintenance experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry
  • Minimum 10 years in LNG producing plants, not LNG terminals
  • Experience of working with equipment such as Centrifugal compressors control and anti-surge systems, Turbines control and protection, Natural gas processing control and instrumentation, Analytical instruments, DCS, PLC utilization requirements, Loading arms instruments, FGS maintenance practice
