Introduction

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Commercial Contracting to lead the negotiation, governance, and execution of complex infrastructure and service agreements across a national energy portfolio.

In this senior leadership position, you will oversee a team responsible for managing high volumes of commercial contracts, ensuring compliance, consistency, and delivery of optimal commercial outcomes. This role will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align agreements with strategic, regulatory, and financial objectives.

What are you going to do

Lead the negotiation and execution of commercial agreements (transport, storage, connections, and service contracts).
Develop and implement contracting strategies that enhance efficiency and consistency nationally.
Oversee contract governance and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, Regulatory, and Operations teams.
Identify and implement process improvements to optimise commercial outcomes.
Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Commercial Advisors.

Essential skills and knowledge

Extensive experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts in energy, infrastructure, or regulated sectors.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and commercial frameworks.
Demonstrated success in delivering consistent contracting outcomes at scale.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams.
Exceptional attention to detail, collaboration skills, and commercial acumen.
