Introduction

We are currently partnering with a leading tier-one mining business to recruit an experienced Structural Project Engineer to join their project development team. This is a key role supporting the early phases of capital projects and studies across major operational sites.

What are you going to do

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, supporting the development and evaluation of high-value infrastructure initiatives within the resources sector.

Duties:

Lead engagement with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to define and refine project scopes.
Oversee scope development for structural components of capital projects and studies.
Prepare and manage detailed budgets, capturing both internal resources and external consultancy costs.
Coordinate and manage external consultants to ensure alignment with technical standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
Conduct detailed research to support engineering studies and project justifications.
Develop and evaluate business cases to support investment decisions.
Prepare high-quality technical documentation and reports for internal governance and approvals.

Essential skills and knowledge

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
8-12+ years' experience in project engineering, with a focus on structural works within mining, heavy industrial, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable
Prior experience in consultancy, EPCM, or owner-side project environments is highly desirable.
Proven ability to manage complex scopes across multiple stakeholders.
Strong commercial and technical report writing skills.
