Introduction

We are recruiting a Utilities Engineer for a 12-month renewable contract, based in Milan during the engineering phase with later site involvement. The role supports a major international energy operator delivering a large-scale LNG development in East Africa, offering exposure to complex utilities systems and a critical commissioning and start-up phase on a world-class project.

What are you going to do

As Utilities Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and supervising pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for site utilities, ensuring systems are delivered safely and in full compliance with project requirements and ready for handover to Operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for site utilities systems

  • Coordinating closely with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Contracts, and Procurement teams

  • Supervising contractor commissioning activities and managing on-site interfaces

  • Ensuring the safe and timely achievement of MC, RFSU, and RFL milestones

  • Supporting commissioning activities during SIMOPS and post-hydrocarbon introduction

  • Ensuring utilities systems are handed over to Operations in excellent condition

Essential skills and knowledge 

Background and experience include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering or equivalent

  • Strong technical knowledge of site utilities systems

  • Minimum 15 years' experience on large onshore or offshore projects

  • At least 10 years' experience in supervisory roles within commissioning environments

  • Extensive commissioning experience in Control and Instrumentation, including senior-level positions
