Introduction

Our client, a leading global name in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a dedicated Shutdown Manager to oversee the 2027 Major Shutdown of the Marchienne-au-Pont Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant. This is an 18-month contract role based in Paris, offering an exceptional opportunity to lead and coordinate a high-impact project with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality.

What are you going to do

  • HSE Leadership: Define and enforce health, safety, and environmental objectives; promote a culture of zero accidents among all stakeholders.
  • Team Coordination: Supervise a multidisciplinary preparation team of 5-10 members, ensuring alignment with priorities and timelines.
  • Operational Excellence: Coordinate all shutdown-related activities, including maintenance, technical upgrades, and documentation management.
  • Client Collaboration: Work closely with external contractors (e.g., Siemens Energy) for shaft line maintenance and potential upgrades.
  • Budget & Schedule Oversight: Propose budgets, maintain cost efficiency, and ensure adherence to deadlines.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Experienced engineer with several years in Maintenance, Operations, or Project Management roles in the industry-ideally within CCGT.
  • Strong analytical skills, discipline, organizational ability, initiative, communication, and teamwork.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, as communication and documentation will be in both languages.
