Introduction

This role involves managing and overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, financial, and program requirements. You will work closely with contractors, stakeholders, and project management to ensure successful project delivery.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead and support a small team of engineers to deliver the project according to quality, safety, environmental, and budget requirements
  • Monitor project progress and construction performance against plans and contracts
  • Review and manage contractor communications, claims, variations, and extensions of time
  • Ensure adherence to contract specifications, approvals, and legislative requirements
  • Assist with risk and issues management and participate in project audits and quality reviews
  • Maintain effective document control and reporting systems
  • Provide technical advice on construction methods, traffic control, work programs, and compliance
  • Collaborate with project management and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and problem resolution

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Degree qualification in engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in large civil infrastructure projects, preferably in transport or road construction
  • Experience with government procurement processes, ideally involving TfNSW
  • Competence in project planning and scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Current Australian driver's license
