Assume responsibility and represent Design Department for all aspects related to environmental practices
Lead external & internal coordination pertinent to environmental
Support managers in the preparation and implementation of environmental practices both on site and within the office environment
Review, comment / recommend acceptance or otherwise of related consultants' submissions
Working closely with stakeholders to ensure that environmental procedures and policies are being applied on a Programme and Project level
Conduct site Auditing
Conduct background studies, prepare or review Environmental Impact Assessment reports
Review of construction environmental management plans
Provide technical support to Ashghal Management, and act independently as may be required under certain circumstances
Work within the department to identify concerns, areas for improvement, and then act to streamline processes
Continually seek and capture lessons learned from the process and use this intelligence to improve systems and tools
Liaise effectively with the Design/Supervising Consultants/Contractors on all environmental matters
Monitor policies and procedures and report any areas where improvement is required
Ensure Programme and Project wide compliance with environment legislation
Provide support for all environment-related matters identifying trends, vulnerabilities and liabilities that can be avoided by preventive techniques and procedures and recommend necessary corrective actions and measures
Essential skills and knowledge
BSc / BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
15 years of demonstrable experience in dealing with major highway or infrastructure projects including construction as applicable to the nature of the works
Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience with management capacity
Evidence of suitable professional qualification or equivalent is preferable
