Introduction

Brunel is seeking a Reservoir Engineer with strong expertise in simulation to support a portfolio of carbon storage technology development programs. The role will focus on advancing predictive capabilities around subsurface CO₂ behavior, helping enable the safe and effective deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) solutions.

What are you going to do

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced reservoir simulations using Schlumberger's INTERSECT to assess CO₂ injection and storage scenarios.

  • Evaluate injectivity, pressure communication, and seal integrity across diverse geological settings.

  • Contribute to the development and assessment of new and hybrid CO₂ storage mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with geoscience, geomechanics, and data science teams to integrate results into broader CCS program efforts.

  • Provide technical support for field pilots and large-scale CCS projects.

  • Develop workflows, methodologies, and best practices for simulation-driven screening and risk analysis.

  • Deliver technical insights through reports, presentations, and publications.

Essential skills and knowledge

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Reservoir Engineering (advanced degree preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of reservoir engineering experience, with a strong focus on simulation.

  • Proven expertise in Schlumberger INTERSECT; experience with Eclipse, CMG, or similar tools is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of fluid flow in porous media, CO₂ behavior, and geomechanics.

  • Experience in CCS projects or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) applications is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
