Introduction

As a Category Procurement Manager General Packaging, you will be the key link between suppliers and internal stakeholders around the world. You ensure that strategic procurement of packaging materials not only delivers cost optimization but also drives innovation and sustainability. What are you going to do 

What will you do?

  • Develop and implement category strategies: You will create and lead global procurement strategies for a wide range of packaging materials (such as pallets, labels, sleeves, bags, and IBCs). Your plans will align business needs with market capabilities and long-term value creation.
  • Lead the strategic sourcing process: You are responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing process for your categories, setting up work plans and ensuring implementation,. All while closely collaborating with colleagues across Asia.
  • Manage supplier relationships: You will build strategic partnerships with key suppliers to drive innovation, sustainability, and value creation. You will also lead the Supplier Relationship & Performance Management process.
  • Project and program management: Translate category strategy into actionable projects, align with governance structures, and monitor progress to ensure on-time and in-full delivery.
  • Financial and cost management: Develop "should cost" models and ensure continuous transparency in cost structures and commodity price fluctuations. Manage the annual budget process and ensure compliance.
  • Stakeholder management at strategic level: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across functions and regions. Ensure alignment and buy-in for your strategies, roadmaps, and key initiatives.

Essential skills and knowledge 

You are an entrepreneurial and result-driven procurement professional with a strong analytical mindset. You are comfortable operating on both tactical and strategic levels, know how to engage suppliers, and take initiative without hesitation. You can manage complexity and bring clarity and smart solutions to the table. You're someone who turns obstacles into opportunities, and gets things done.

You also have:

  • A university degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in (packaging) procurement, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Experience with project and stakeholder management at a senior level.
  • Affinity with sustainability and innovation in supply chains.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a hands-on mentality.
