Introduction

We are recruiting a Principal Instrumentation Designer to join one of our leading multinational clients and their expanding team. This position is based in Bangalore and offers an excellent opportunity for experienced proposal management professionals in the Conventional Energy sector.

What are you going to do 

Position: Principal Instrumentation Designer;

Contract: On Perm Role;

  • Good knowledge on international codes & standards;
  • Preparation of Cable block diagrams;
  • Prepare Loop Diagrams & Overall System Interconnection Diagrams;
  • Junction Box Wiring Diagrams, MCT Arrangement Drawings;
  • Preparation of instrument and JB schedules, Cable schedules;
  • Instrument & Junction Box Layouts, Cable Tray & Routing Layouts;
  • Extraction of layout from 3D model and drafting;
  • Fire & Gas, ESD, FSD and Fusible Plug Layouts, Instrument Installation & Hook-up Diagrams;
  • Preparation of Level sketches/ level setting diagrams;
  • Instrument Bulk Material Take-Off;
  • Modelling of Field Instruments, Detectors, and Junction Boxes & Panels;
  • Modelling of Cable tray supports by MDS module;
  • Extraction of MTO. Instrumentation weight report;
  • Coordination with other discipline for clash checking and close out;
  • Participation in 30%, 60% & 90% Model completion Review and closeout the comments;
  • Review & approve vendor data and ensure package units are properly integrated and/or interfaced;
  • Ensure that interfaces with other disciplines are consistent and aligned;
  • Ensure that the system is fully in line with the Regulatory regime, Classification requirements, Company standards and Client requirements;
  • Perform Procurement Engineering within stipulated time frame of the project. Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, third party consultants, etc. to ensure timely review of documents and that comments are made with required quality level;
  • Work with Engineers and Designers both within and outside the discipline to ensure instruments are selected, installed, and configured for optimum operation and accuracy;
  • Should be an effective Team player, capable of working with Multi-National Clients and possess good communication skills.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Academic: Instrumentation & Control engineering / Diploma school or equivalent;
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years experience in Offshore Fixed & FPSO Projects;
  • SW or tools: Knowledge of AutoCAD, PDMS / E3D & SPI.
