Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Power System Applications (PSA) Engineer with expertise in Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) environments. This role focuses on model validation, defect resolution, and system support for EMS/DTS platforms used in utility control room training and simulation. The ideal candidate is hands-on with real-time and simulated EMS systems, capable of performing break/fix activities, and ensuring high system availability in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform model validation and defect resolution for DTS systems.
Diagnose and resolve issues across EMS technical services.
Execute break/fix activities including code review, deployment, testing, and monitoring.
Apply corrective actions to restore failed or degraded system functionality.
Install and deploy fixes and patches on live customer systems.
Support system reliability in mission-critical training environments.
Administer and optimize EMS/DTS systems, including GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21), GE AEMS, or equivalent platforms from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, etc.
Perform application configuration, system tuning, and security patching.
Power System Applications Expertise:
5+ years of experience with Power System Applications including power flow, state estimation, contingency analysis, load frequency control / AGC, and Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS).
Strong expertise in DTS model validation and event creation.
Simulation, Protocols & Data:
Experience working with simulated RTUs and IEDs.
Knowledge of ICCP, IEC, DNP3, Modbus protocols.
Data modeling experience using XML / JSON.
Technical Skills:
Programming and scripting experience with C, C++, PERL, or similar languages.
Strong skills in SQL and shell scripting.
Ability to read, interpret, and debug system logs and trace files.
Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.
Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
We are looking for an experienced Power System Applications (PSA) Engineer with hands-on expertise in Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) and EMS platforms used in utility control room training. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience supporting real-time or simulated EMS systems, performing model validation, defect resolution, and system maintenance to ensure mission-critical reliability.
Strong knowledge of power system applications including power flow, state estimation, contingency analysis, and load frequency control / AGC is required. Experience with DTS model validation, event creation, and system tuning is essential. Candidates should be proficient with EMS platforms such as GE PowerOn Reliance, GE AEMS, or equivalents from Siemens, OSI, ABB, or Schneider.
Technical skills include programming/scripting (C, C++, PERL), SQL, shell scripting, and experience with Linux and Windows environments. Familiarity with protocols such as ICCP, IEC, DNP3, and Modbus, as well as data modeling with XML/JSON, is desirable. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and deployment experience in live production environments are key.
