We are currently partnered with an established power generation facility in Northeastern Ontario, seeking a qualified 2nd Class Operating Engineer to join its operations team.

As the Operating Engineer, you will support the operation and maintenance of power generation assets under the direction of the Chief Operating Engineer. Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance to support participation in Ontario's Medium-Term Capacity (MTC) market.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Candidate Profile:

  • Certified Power (Operating) Engineer with a valid 2nd Class TSSA certification
  • Required experience in steam and/or gas turbine operations
  • Certificate or diploma in power engineering, electromechanics, electrotechnology, process technology, or mechanical disciplines
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment
  • Familiarity with IESO, HONI, and TSSA processes considered an asset
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and operating procedures
  • General understanding of power plant operations and strong knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Proficiency with common IT tools (e.g., MS Office, Adobe) considered an asset
  • Strong English communication skills; working knowledge of French is an asset

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
