The Subsea fabrication superintendent is responsible to lead and manage Contractor and his local subcontractor for safe and successful fabrication of clad riser/spool, pipe coating, subsea sleepers and subsea bridges to meet the overall project objectives.
Steward local fabrication activities ensuring HSE, Quality and timely delivery of the scope with regard to the project installation campaigns.
Drives the contractor by providing clear guidance and facilitating resolution to issues to perform the fabrication scope.
Project is part of a large Compression Development Program decided by LNG and its Shareholders.
This major project consists of the delivery of new facilities (5 new riser platforms, 1 wellhead platform, 110km of CRA pipelines, stalk on risers, cables and FO lines) and 45 tieins / modifications to 30 existing platforms.
This role requires strong leadership and technical experience to drive the Contractor and his local subcontractors to efficiently execute the fabrication scope of work.
Directly involved with the development of clad riser / spool, subsea steel and GRP crossing structure fabrication plans and execution of the plans overseeing onshore fabrication scope responsibilities and duties safely, efficiently and effectively.
Ensure there is quality, effectiveness and consistency in fabrication processes, systems, procedures and work products while adhering to established fabrication processes and quality procedures.
Position to be located in Qatar at one of the local subcontractors with frequent visit to the other local fabrication yard and coating yard.
Periodic offshore visit when required to assist the installation of the risers or subsea structures.
What are you going to do
Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during fabrication process.
Manage and ensure successful fabrication and delivery of clad riser/spool, pipe coating, subsea sleepers and subsea bridges to meet the overall project objectives. (Safety, Quality, Schedule, and others, as appropriate).
Provide technical expertise for the fabrication of the clad risers/spools, pipe coating and the subsea to support the development of the project execution schedules, scope of work, constructability methods and strategies.
Supervise and control the activities of the Contractor/Subcontractors related to the clad risers/spool fabrication, Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning to ensure that it complies with contractual requirements, project documentation and applicable International Standards. Closely monitor the fabrication with the assistance of site inspectors (welding, NDE, coating)
Check the constructability aspects, as well as the compliance with all technical requirements/ review of the deliverables provided by the Engineering Team Contractor.
Contribute to the engineering for the risers and spools post metrology data, design check for the fabrication aspect, as well as the compliance to all technical requirements.
Review technical deviations to LNG construction standards and to project specifications in close collaboration with head of Pipeline and Cable, Engineering division manager and Head of Quality.
Provide direction and guidance on all engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties.
Supervise the load out and sea fastening activities and particular attention shall be made to the risers and spools Liaise with Contractors / Subcontractors for all structure subject, MC, Precommissioning and Commissioning.
Participate in Risk Assessments.
Lesson Learned, kick off meetings and Pre-Job Meetings, Safety walk around TBT, technical meeting, progress meeting.
Ensure the proper quality and traceability of the fabrication. Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
Ensure with Contractors/Subcontractors that all the fabrication dossiers are well prepared and properly handed over to the Quality team and System Completion team.
Verify that the Contractor’s reports are accurate with regards to progress reporting.
Provide daily and weekly reports
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering
8 years of experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the
project scope.
Knowledge of offshore facilities and structures, onshore facilities, or yard operations as applicable to a project scope.
Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.
Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
Experience in offshore/onshore clad riser/spool, subsea steel and GRP crossing structure fabrication activities.
Good Knowledge in welding, NDT techniques
Good Knowledge in MC, Pre-commissioning and commissioning
Knowledgeable in HAZOP, HAZID, Risk Assessment processes and applications.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and safety requirements in the fabrication industry.
Strong understanding of clad risers/spool fabrication methods, techniques and the ability to apply them effectively to projects.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A high-level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interface with different technical disciplines and people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
