Brunel is currently searching for Electrical Maintenance Manager for a direct hire role with our mining client located in Phoenix, Arizona.

What are you going to do 

In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work in collaboration virtually and in-person in Pheonix as well as at site locations.

Description:

You will be responsible for the company's maintenance operations in the Americas and internationally and its future direction within the company. Coordinates with the Multiple Site Managers maintenance processes at all sites. Responsible for evaluating maintenance needs and ensuring that specific standardized processes and measurements are established with accountable parties identified. This position will drive best practices as well as resource sharing.

This Manager, will manage the maintenance function with a blend of traditional and matrix reporting structures through influence. The position will have joint responsibility for budgets, forecasting and cost controls for maintenance with the multiple Site Leadership Teams. This position will also be responsible for all safety, production, employee development, new technology implementation and other organizational related goals as it impacts the maintenance organization.

This position supports the site operations globally and implements change by building relationships, influencing and using data for supporting and driving decisions. Work closely with other organization leaders and sponsors to ensure good communication and expectation management.

  • Responsibility for OI Processing Maintenance department, leadership, strategic planning that supports company's goal achievement.
  • Delivers measurable improvement in maintenance tactical job execution by providing job management coaching, resource sharing, evaluating schedules and job scopes, ensuring preparations are fulfilled, and providing pre and post job instruction and council.
  • Drive sameness for multiple sites in all maintenance activities including: work order coding, KPI measurements, cost control, Planned Component Replacement (PCR) forecasting process, use of the tools (MIMS, MMA, data warehouse, RBM ware etc.) RCM, planning, scheduling, executing, measuring and analyzing.
  • Lead and support company Processing Lifecycle Program.
  • Responsible for supporting and leading through influence, the maintenance job execution preparation, execution and outcomes. Provide guidance to Maintenance Superintendents in all applicable areas.
  • Work closely with all Training departments and MTI to ensure meaningful training focus is achieved for the maintenance function.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, and ten (10) years of maintenance experience in the mining industry, including mobile and fixed plant equipment.
  • Previous Maintenance Management Position.
  • Understanding and experience with SAP Maintenance Module.
  • Understanding and knowledge of CMMS programs.
  • Working knowledge and maintenance experience with Gearless Motor Drives and Cyclo-converters.
  • Working knowledge and experience with medium and high voltage Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis process knowledge and experience.
  • Experience leading and managing large diverse work groups.
  • Strong team player with interpersonal and presentation skills; an ability to work effectively with a cross-section of people amongst senior management, operational manager and outside vendors.
  • Experience in Financial and project management with cost control methods.
  • Understanding of mine and processing operational needs and requirements.
  • Computer skills including MIMS usage and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA legislation and safety regulations.
  • MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable of basic employment laws, legislations, regulations and trends.
  • Experience leading and managing projects with an electrical focus.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proven safety performance and improvement.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM) preferred.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment. As required work will be performed in a mine or processing setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.
  • Frequent travel to various U.S. mine sites and to international mine sites.
  • Large amount of driving miles in Southwest U.S.

This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance.  Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.  Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements.  More details will be shared during the hiring process.
