We are looking for an E&I Construction Engineer to work with one of our major clients on a contract position located in Beaumont, TX.
Supervise the execution of electrical and instrumentation work, ensuring adherence to specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
Identify and report quality issues promptly, providing technical expertise to resolve them.
Collaborate with Construction, Commissioning, Turnover, and Operations teams to deliver systems that meet project standards.
Support planning by developing tools to monitor progress and produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Promote error prevention and work closely with craft professionals to achieve best-quality outcomes safely.
Provide input on material management, quantity verification, validation, and technical inspections.
Conduct field walks, safety observations, JSA reviews, and toolbox meetings, ensuring compliance with safety policies.
Participate in system scoping and compile associated drawings and specifications in advance.
Manage contractors' construction activities, ensuring compliance with contracts, permits, and schedules.
Take part in system walkdowns, raise and track punch items, and validate resolutions.
Respond to technical queries from internal stakeholders, EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
Monitor the safe use and condition of tools, equipment, and procedures to support zero-incident performance.
Review contractor procedures, reports, and completed work for quality and compliance.
Coordinate with Commissioning and Start-up teams to support turnover, start-up, and performance testing.
Verify contractors' compliance with manufacturer storage/preservation requirements and perform inspections at laydown yards.
Strong knowledge of Electrical & Instrumentation construction, field engineering practices, and inspection processes.
Experience with testing and installation of electrical systems, lighting, instruments, cable work, medium/high voltage equipment, loop checks, fire detection, lightning protection, etc.
Familiarity with materials management for E&I, including ability to inspect received goods across multiple sites.
Thorough understanding of engineering and construction standards, design drawings, specifications, NEC, NFPA, and other applicable codes.
