The Cost Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and maintaining accurate cost estimates for Major Projects, ensuring alignment with project budgets, forecasts, and financial policies.
The role supports the Project Team by providing detailed cost analysis, monitoring expenditures, and delivering timely reports to enable informed decision-making and effective financial control throughout the Project lifecycle.

What are you going to do
Cost Estimation
Serve as the primary liaison, along with Senior Cost Estimation Engineer, between Major Projects and Finance & Commercial Divisions for all cost estimation matters.
Prepare, review, and coordinate project cost estimates for all phases, ensuring alignment with budgets, forecasts, and contract requirements.
Deliver reliable cost estimates benchmarked against historical data and market trends, validated through collaboration with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
Ensure estimates are comprehensive, accurate, and reflect the latest project scope, market conditions, and contractual obligations.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for negative variation orders resulting from scope deletions, ensuring accurate quantification of cost savings and alignment with contractual provisions.
Evaluate and analyze variation order requests received from EPCC Contractors, verifying validity, accuracy, and compliance with contract terms before making recommendations to project management.
Cost Database Maintenance
Develop, maintain, and regularly update a structured cost database containing historical project data, unit rates, productivity norms, and vendor/supplier pricing.
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of cost data, enabling efficient retrieval and use for future estimates.
Periodically audit and validate database entries to ensure relevance and reliability.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve standardized cost estimation templates and tools to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across all project estimates.
Customize templates to accommodate project-specific requirements, contract types, and reporting needs.
Train project team members on the effective use of templates and tools.
Change Management & Claims Support
Evaluate cost impacts of scope changes, variation orders, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Support Project Management in the assessment and documentation of claims and disputes.
Maintain a Change Log and ensure traceability of all cost-related changes.
Monthly Reporting
Support the Senior Cost Estimation Engineer in project cost estimation and reporting and maintaining detailed records.
Assist project team members in analyzing cost estimation related information.
Continuous Improvement & Decision Support
Act proactively within the area of responsibility, proposing effective solutions and supporting Project Management decision-making.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
Bachelor’s Degree (12+4 years).
Candidate must have the same educational background.
Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years' work experience, with at least 3-5 years spent working on major projects.
