Brunel International is seeking a skilled Construction Quality Coating and Insulation Inspector to join our team supporting FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects. This role is essential to ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in coating and insulation activities during the construction phase of offshore oil and gas facilities.
As a Construction Quality Coating and Insulation Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring and verifying the quality of coating and insulation applications on FPSO modules and components. Your duties will include conducting inspections, reviewing procedures and documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards, and reporting any non-conformities. You will collaborate closely with construction teams, QA/QC engineers, and project management to maintain quality assurance throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities: - Inspect coating and insulation work during FPSO construction to ensure adherence to project specifications and international standards (NACE, ISO, etc.)
- Verify surface preparation, coating application, and insulation installation processes - Review inspection and test plans, procedures, and inspection reports
- Identify and document non-conformities, initiate corrective actions, and follow up on resolutions - Coordinate with subcontractors and client representatives regarding quality concerns
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular quality status reports to project management - Support audits and quality meetings as required
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector specializing in coating and insulation within offshore oil and gas construction, preferably FPSO projects - In-depth knowledge of coating and insulation materials, application techniques, and relevant industry standards (e.g., NACE, SSPC, ISO)
- Strong understanding of inspection tools and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods related to coatings and insulation - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality documentation
- Excellent communication and reporting skills - Relevant certifications such as NACE Coating Inspector Level 2 or equivalent are highly desirable
- Ability to work offshore or at construction yards as required - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
- Proficient in English (written and spoken)
