What began as a mandatory government initiative has become a pillar of success at Brunel Brazil. The second class of our Young Apprenticeship Program was officially inaugurated last month. With the support and leadership of our incredible team, our South American headquarters in Rio de Janeiro welcomed a new wave of eager professionals to assist our daily business.

 

A group of young women will don the Brunel name to develop their business skills and learn our top recruitment methods. This project aims to foster a more equitable future for energy workers in Brazil's growing economy and to give back to the communities in which Brunel conducts business.

Cultural diversity in international business is made possible through initiatives like the young apprentice program in Brazil. Our leadership is pictured working with the young women of this program at our office as they begin their first days on our team.

What is the Young Apprenticeship Program?

The Brazilian state requires companies to provide apprenticeship programs for young professionals to counter unemployment, crime, and increased school dropout rates.

 

These apprenticeships provide qualified candidates from underserved communities with technical and professional qualifications through guidance and mentorship. They connect companies with a diverse workforce that might otherwise face challenges like getting their foot in the door or being noticed in a larger pool of applicants, despite their competency.

 

Brunel's adherence to the Lei de Aprendiz, or "Law of Apprentices" isn't a way to check a box, but rather a reinforced upholding of our values.

 

The Brunel Young Apprentice Class of 2024

Our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging (DIB) and our Passion for People have propelled our Young Apprentice Program into its second year. Early last month, our second cohort of apprentices began working out of our Brazilian office.

 

The group is comprised of young black women who will be molded, led, and trained as the future of Brazil's energy sector. In the coming 22 months, they will immerse themselves in Brazil's energy recruitment, making meaningful contributions across different departments and engaging in important projects. Already, their enthusiasm is beaming and making waves across our teams.

 

A Word of Gratitude to Leaders of the Program

We thank our internal team for the coordination and execution efforts provided to ensure a seamless induction of our second wave of apprentices. Without their hard work, the program would not have been able to achieve the immense success seen in our first class and allowed for a stage set this time around.
