Introduction

You will be responsible for providing Project Procurement and Expediting support in relation to purchasing goods procurement through SAP. Responsible for coordinating all aspects relevant to the preparation, issue, maintenance, expediting and close out of Purchase Orders.

About this role

You will be responsible for providing Project Procurement and Expediting support in relation to purchasing goods procurement through SAP. Responsible for coordinating all aspects relevant to the preparation, issue, maintenance, expediting and close out of Purchase Orders. Other duties include:

  • Source local and international suppliers for materials and inventory items
  • Prepare Request for Quotations (RFQ's) and evaluate responses and raise Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Negotiate with suppliers on all matters relating to terms and conditions
  • Coordinate on contractual, commercial, taxation, insurance, HSES and legal issues with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Resolve technical queries with Operations Maintenance Group
  • Expedite the delivery of purchased items and ensure their compliance with the required specifications and delivery date
  • Ensure commercial and contractual correspondence with suppliers is efficiently handled
  • Facilitate resolution of invoice queries with Account Payable and suppliers
  • Ensure that full audit trail is maintained for all procurement transactions
  • Provide procurement advice to the colleagues within the team, as well as the relevant non Contracts & Procurement personnel
  • Identify issues and provide solutions in line with the Contracts & Procurement procedures
  • Maintain positive vendor relationships
  • Manage urgent procurement required afterhours during on-duty period instructed by Line Manager
  • Ensure confidentiality of contract documents is maintained

Is this you?

  • Thorough understanding of Procurement and Expediting processes
  • SAP skills (proficient in MM module) and an awareness of functions of the AP and PM Modules
  • MS Office Suite - proficient in MS Excel, experience in usage of key functions and VBA
  • Understanding of local content requirements in the contracting, sourcing and procurement processes
  • Good understanding of key supply chain (sourcing, buying, expediting, inventory, cataloguing, quality control, logistics and warehousing) principles
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills
