What are you going to do

Develop, manage and implement the panel operators training program. Support the overall Operator Competency and Qualification program. To be the custodian of the Operator Training Simulator (OTS) to ensure that it is properly maintained and available to support panel operators training and competencies delivery. Validate Operating procedures which would include start-up, normal shutdown, cooldown and emergency shutdown of the Mozambique LNG Plant. Interface with process engineering & DCS engineers to develop and test future process and control opportunities such as Advanced Process Control, MCHE auto-cool, etc..

HSE RESPONSIBILITES

  • Adhere to HSE and Company policies, Confidentiality, Compliance needs and Procedures.
  • Promote continuously safety culture.
  • Work safely, avoid any incident and dangerous situation, contribute towards continual HSE improvement, demonstrate safety behaviour for himself and others.
  • Attend mandatory HSE trainings, refresher/expired trainings and apply them on site, ensure team and vendor compliance.
  • Support to maintain and continually improve ISO 14001 Environment Management System requirements and other management initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General training:

  • Assist with development of general Operations training policies, plans and programs, including by ensuring compliance with Mozambique National regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Panel Operator and Field Operator Competency and Qualification programs.
  • Participate to Toolbox talks and carry out Topic Training presentations.

OTS specific:

  • Ensure that MzLNG experienced Panel Operators are qualified to operate the LNG plant facilities, of their respective areas.
  • Ensure development of Mozambique National trainees, until they have reached full qualification required as Panel Operators of their respective areas.
  • Assess the operating procedures, and propose revisions if required, until full validation.
  • Witness the MAT, FAT, SAT and attend vendor's training session related to the OTS.
  • Complete training records and reports.
  • Lead competency and panel operator qualification assessments.
  • Ensure that the OTS is always updated in line with the latest ICSS software version.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong leadership and administrative abilities are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries and governmental agencies.
  • Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to train personnel and conduct competency/qualification assessments
  • Possess the personality and ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with management, peers and the various facility level workers whom are all responsible for ensuring good operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of oil & gas / LNG production processes and methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of natural gas treatment, LNG production activities, Storage & Loading and Utilities operations.
  • High knowledge of Emergency Response systems and experience in handling plant emergencies.

Essential skills and knowledge 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of higher education in Applied Science or Chemical Engineering or equivalent with international standard and solid experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years specific production experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry
  • Minimum 5 years in LNG production plants as Panel Operator (not LNG terminals)
  • Previous experience on the use in Operator Training Simulator
