Brunel is currently searching for an experienced Quality Engineer for direct hire with our client located in the Cleveland, Ohio area.

Position Summary:


The Quality Engineer is responsible for the entire PPAP process and sharing responsibility of the defined procedures. Additionally, the Quality Engineer acts as the liaison between our client and the customer in all quality inspection processes related to set industry standards. This position reports directly to the Quality & Operations Engineering Manager and works closely with the branch operations and engineering services divisions.



Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Act as a liaison between our client and the customer.

  • Take responsibility in customer processes (CSR, satisfaction, complaints, self-assessments, visits etc.)

  • Represent the quality department in projects and programs.

  • Train new quality team members.

  • Advise and guide the team in the incoming inspection process (IP, PPAP, master samples, WH management, repair and rework, special audits).

  • Manage laboratory and measurement equipment.

  • Participate in the supplier assurance and development process (audits, certificates, evaluation and assessment, complaints).

  • Participate in the change management process (APQP, deviations).

  • Take ownership of the entire PPAP process and portal from start to finish.

  • Share responsibility in keeping the company updated through the defined processes.

  • Support the internal audit process and manage assigned actions.

  • Represent quality and support implementing the quality processes at the start-up of a new branch.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

What you need to bring:

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred, experience in lieu of degree.

  • Internal auditor certifications are a plus (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).

  • 2-3 years' experience in a quality role in the automotive sector required. Fastener knowledge is a plus.

  • Knowledge of automotive core tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, 8D, FMEA.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the entire PPAP process.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as experience working successfully in cross-functional teams; able to create and deliver effective presentations via multiple mediums to individuals as well as varied groups of people.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships while balancing short-term needs and long-term objectives.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities; ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex information and apply to practical situations.

  • Proven history of personal initiative, efficiency, attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and performing quality work within deadlines with or without supervision.

  • PC proficiency required, including MS Office. Knowledge of an ERP package as well as any other industry-specific software is a plus.
