A leading engineering consultancy seeks a UK-registered Chartered or Incorporated Instrumentation & Control Engineer for a high-profile UK mining redevelopment. Fully remote, 3-month call-on/call-off contract with working hours tailored to your needs. You will provide professional oversight, reviewing, certifying, and signing off I&C design deliverables for plant-wide instrumentation and control systems, ensuring full compliance with UK electrical and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and certify final instrumentation and control drawings, calculations, loop diagrams, architecture documents, and specifications.
Ensure all I&C designs comply with UK regulations, including:
Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
BS 7671 - Requirements for Electrical Installations
Provide Responsible Charge oversight for I&C engineering work and participate in design reviews.
Validate integration of I&C systems with communication networks (LAN/WAN) and electrical infrastructure.
Sign, date, and stamp final documentation in accordance with UK engineering practice.
Ensure all delivered I&C work meets QA, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
Professional Requirements
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registered with the Engineering Council UK
Member of a relevant institution (IET, InstMC, or similar)
Proven competence in instrumentation, electrical regulation compliance, and industrial control systems
Ability to legally accept responsibility for certified documents
Familiarity with HV/MV electrical control integration and multidisciplinary coordination
