Introduction

Brunel is currently searching for a Sr. Reliability Engineer for direct hire with our client located in Miami, Arizona. This is an on-site position.

As a Sr. Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, governance and continuous improvement of the fleet reliability and condition monitoring plan. 70% of the Mine Maintenance Engineer’s time will be spent on equipment data analysis, FMEA’s, RCA’s, cost control, condition monitoring and maintenance strategy development while the remaining 30% is spent in the field.

This position will also:

  • Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect the mine plan.
  • Develop and govern technical Databases, master data on E-SAP PM module and any other relevant information to sustain the Life Cycle Asset Management Program.
  • Assist with the preparation and development of Strategic Business Plan (Budgeting) process for Mine Mobile Maintenance
  • Identify and drive initiatives to optimize existing processes, practices, and equipment performance to improve cost and achieve production goals

What are you going to do

  • Review and provide guidance on equipment strategies that reflect the operational needs to achieve the specified equipment availability, in conjunction with the agreed throughput rates and engineering standards for the equipment
  • Coordinate project activities with Mine Operations and Mine Engineering to improve equipment maintenance availability and other related KPI’s
  • Establish historical trends to demonstrate cause and effect relationships in equipment health and asset improvements
  • Provide consistent engagement with Mine Operations to ensure equipment is operated and maintenance within Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies
  • Integrate new technology solutions to consistently upgrade and improve site safety, efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls and protection of the environment
  • Conduct and coordinate Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes; Develop defect elimination techniques and strategies related to findings
  • Provide maintenance support, technical advice, and mentorship for maintenance technicians as well as the Maintenance Planning/Reliability Team Members
  • Lead and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations on component failures and equipment downtime events
  • Review condition-based monitoring reports and provide recommendations to maintenance through the SAP work management process
  • Analyze schedule management feedback for opportunities to improve work management processes and/or utilization of external services
  • Prepare unforeseeable corrective work data, based on previous work history to support cost estimation at cost center/element level
  • Reports to: Mine Maintenance Superintendent – Planning & Reliability

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Formal education in Technology, Engineering or Business is highly regarded.
  • Graduate from mechanical/electrical engineering field or similar is preferable. Other college degrees will be considered if there is previous experience in Mine Mobile Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Machine Condition Monitoring System highly regarded
  • Knowledge of Computerized Management Systems and Mine Dispatch highly regarded
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance process and planning practices highly regarded
  • CAT VIMS, SAP and Minestar knowledge as a plus.
  • Intermediate computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Databases.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License
