Resolving problematic and complex commercial issues such as:
Measuring, assessing and valuing variations
Review and assessment of major claims
Quantum review and assessment of prolongation and disruption costs
Assessment of interim accounts
Alternative Dispute Resolution, Dispute Resolution & Litigation
Final settlement of claims and final accounts
Other duties shall include:
Ensuring construction contracts and professional services agreements are administered appropriately
Monitoring project costs and adherence to commercial procedures
Review and interrogation of Contractor's Cost Reports
Cost management and value management
Essential skills and knowledge
BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying accredited by the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyor (RICS)
A post-graduate qualification in law or dispute resolution preferred but not essential
A proven track record of resolving major complex claims and disputes
Preferable, have Chartered Membership of the RICS or equivalent (suitably experienced professionals may be considered)
Must have a minimum of 12 years post graduate experience
Worked in the capacity of Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Professional Consultancy or Client organization (Contracting background may also be considered).
Preferably, have minimum 3 years experience in the gulf region.
Experience in heavy civils and major building projects
Knowledge and experience of procurement methods for consultancy and construction contracts
Well versed in International Conditions of Contract and law.
A comprehensive, well-rounded knowledge and understanding of contract principles / administration
Good experience of construction technology and on-site activities
Highly motivated self-driven with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Analytical and detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills.
The ability to write complex reports in simplistic format
