Introduction

  • This role is accountable for both the planning and coordination of all offshore personnel movements and helicopter flight scheduling under the JOC, and the coordination of marine activity under the JMPLOC

What are you going to do

  • Plans and schedules helicopters and supply vessels in support of all offshore operations, including JV Companies, by assessing, calculating and assigning loads, capacity, operational priorities, and route economy.
  • Liaises and co-ordinates the timely delivery of materials and cargo between users and contractors to meet ship and aircraft loading schedules thereby ensuring viability of planned movements, and involving considerable external liaison with contract suppliers, haulers, material handlers, port security and user departments
  • Schedules and prioritizes deliveries of cement, drilling chemicals, diesel fuel, water, and all other bulk required by offshore locations in order to maintain production and drilling operations
  • Resolves conflicts in passenger and cargo bookings to offshore locations using computer based logistics systems such as overbooked flights and payload issues, liaising and coordinating new departure schedules between the booking personnel of each company and the heliport that will ultimately meet the requirements of each company, and to ensure that at no single time more than one logistics activity is operating at any offshore location (e.g. cargo offloading during helicopter landing).
  • Abstracts and collates information from offshore locations and ports on behalf of Qatar Armed Forces aircraft/vessels, including producing daily status reports for the military and organization of fueling, landing, routing through rig protected zones and ports, and using that knowledge to conduct critical safety deconfliction for military assets with QP/JV's own logistics assets, based upon an assessment of the operational information provided from the military against the scheduled movements of the day.
  • Acts as 'Super-User' for the bespoke cloud-based logistics IT systems which are national systems critical to daily management of offshore platforms. Receives calls from users and fixes any technical issues encountered, or grants new access to the system upon confirming approval with the company's authorized signatory

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Education - College or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in programming supply vessels or helicopters or similar operations within the oil and gas industry.
  • Fluent (level 6) in English both Verbal and Written
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of safety risk associated with personnel and cargo movement
  • Team players show individual initiative, responsibility and integrity.
  • Proficient MS Office
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Strong analytical skills
