Introduction

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded estimator to take ownership of the estimating function, working on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects while contributing to the continued growth of the business.

What are you going to do

As the Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, managing supplier and subcontractor pricing, controlling project budgets, and supporting projects from pre-construction through to construction.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity take-offs for residential projects.
  • Review plans, specifications and project documentation.
  • Source and negotiate competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders.
  • Monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain estimating databases and current pricing.
  • Liaise with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and procurement systems.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an Estimator within residential construction.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials and pricing.
  • Experience using estimating software such as Solo Assist, Databuild or similar.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
