Primary Purpose

This opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Distributed Infrastructure Market Sector, supporting Substation (Grid) projects and building critical infrastructure for todays and tomorrow's challenges.

Electrical professionals contribute to power systems design by generating deliverables such as:

  • 3D general arrangements
  • Sections and elevations
  • Conduit and grounding plans
  • Bill of materials
  • All corresponding substation project details

The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Senior Electrical Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the development of highquality engineering 2D/3D deliverables for complex infrastructure projects.

Under general supervision, this position performs technical tasks requiring general knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying electrical design drawings using advanced techniques in industrystandard tools such as:

  • Autodesk AutoCAD 3D
  • Bentley MicroStation 3D
  • Other CAD tools

Job Summary

  • Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor
  • Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline
  • Contributes to the development of innovative engineering solutions
  • Uses digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation and drawings

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design-related technology (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Design-related technology (preferred)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically, a minimum of 11 years of related work experience

Performs design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and related documentation
