The Measurement Analyst I is responsible for analyzing, validating, and delivering accurate gas measurement data to support revenue allocation, settlement, and monthly close processes in a midstream environment. This role works closely with measurement, operations, and accounting teams to resolve data discrepancies, ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and meet critical reporting deadlines.
The Measurement Analyst I is responsible for the review, validation, and analysis of gas measurement data supporting revenue allocation, settlement, and management reporting in a midstream environment. This role ensures measurement data integrity, timely monthly close execution, and compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include performing pre close and close measurement activities within defined deadlines, validating preliminary and final volumetric and compositional data, and investigating discrepancies to confirm or correct volume information. The analyst analyzes trends and variances in measurement data and provides technical support to resolve issues identified during the closing process.
The role involves compiling and transferring final measurement data to accounting, marketing, and commercial teams to support monthly allocation, balancing, and settlement by the 5th workday. The Measurement Analyst I works closely with Measurement Specialists, Measurement Technicians, and Accounting to resolve data and balance issues and to ensure accurate reporting.
The position requires application of gas measurement fundamentals, including orifice meter principles, and the use of industry standards such as AGA3, API 14.3, and GPA 8185. The analyst uses measurement systems and tools including FLOWCAL, TestIT, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel to validate data, produce reports, and support decision making.
The Measurement Analyst I also ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, BLM, and applicable federal and state regulations, maintains accurate documentation, and responds to internal and external data requests in a timely manner. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross functional team.
