Introduction

Our client, an industry leader in the oil and gas sector, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with condition monitoring and maintenance experience to join their team on a 28/28 rotation. Operating in the challenging yet rewarding environment of El Merk, Algeria, you will play a fundamental role in ensuring the reliability and safety of critical equipment across our client's operations.

What are you going to do

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor equipment health through techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to mitigate failures.
  • Diagnose faults, including early detection of wear, misalignment, and imbalance, to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Conduct performance testing to ensure equipment operates at optimal levels.
  • Document and report inspection findings and corrective actions for record-keeping and compliance.
  • Collaborate with reliability engineers, planners, and operations teams to align maintenance activities with production goals.
  • Support critical shutdown planning and execution, ensuring inspections and spare parts management are on point.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, sharing your expertise and best practices.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Applicants must hold a relevant degree.
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in large oil and/or gas production facilities.
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, MAXIMO) and vibration monitoring tools.
  • Experience in precision alignment and interpreting mechanical drawings like P&IDs and schematics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance for industrial mechanical equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of plant maintenance procedures and diagnostic techniques.Restrictions may apply due to work permit and visa requirements.
