What are you going to do

  • Understand the Drainage network operations & maintenance Instruments components and associated assets
  • Coordinate with outsourced agencies for executing maintenance of Drainage network operations & maintenance Instruments components in coordination with the Management consultants (MC)/ contractors.
  • Plan and program repair works on the pumping station/Treatment Plants Instruments components
  • Monitor outsource agencies work schedules, set priorities and ensure the appropriate assignment of equipment, materials, and personnel.
  • Carry out design and material reviews to ensure compliance with relevant standards, project specifications and operations & maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor Framework Contractors service delivery to ensure works quality, in line with the service level agreements, contractual specifications and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure Organisation Drainage network operations & maintenance Instruments systems/ components and associated works are compliant with the local and international standards and best practice
  • Configure, test and calibrate plant(s) various field instruments, program logic controller and local SCADA to ensure proper connectivity and data is established with the DNMC system
  • Ensure PFCs adhere to contractual agreements related to Instrumentation O&M of Plant, including CCTV, local SCADA, PLCs and associated field instruments connected to the RTU Telemetry Control Panel (RTC)
  • Ensure that incidents / emergencies reported are attended to and resolved by the maintenance contractors or in-house teams
  • Carry out site surveys, office and site based audits for Instruments Systems/ components related work including site inspections.
  • Review the quarterly, annual and long term preventative and routine maintenance plans to ensure that the Drainage Network perform to the specified level of operations
  • Ensure that the asset inventory for Instruments systems/ components is accurate and maintained in a suitable format for the applicable Computer Based Asset Management System.
  • Provide technical advice to the Contractors regarding design, construction or program modifications and repairs onsite.
  • Manage the performance of maintenance contractors to ensure adherence to defined SLAs
  • Raise any issues that require consideration to the Maintenance Engineering Advisor / Expert for advice on actions/ recommendations.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures in the workplace and comply with any new work instructions
  • Perform other duties / tasks for the successful performance of the catchment.
  • Review of invoices and claims by the catchment contractor with inputs from relevant support teams for payment purposes for submission to Lead Engineer
  • Review of annual plans for the catchment based on inputs from relevant parties and support teams for submission to Lead Engineer

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Education qualification obtained from North America, West Europe, Australia
  • Holder of Chartered Membership in relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering) would be an advantage
  • Holder of current/valid Qatar Driving License
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience preferably in water/wastewater management industry
  • Experience in Monitor, support and evolve the SCADA System in the Drainage Network Management Systems (DNMS)
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary Organisation preferably in the Middle East
  • Extensive knowledge of leading practices in drainage networks operations and maintenance
  • Extensive knowledge of DNMS systems, root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of data analysis to support decision making
  • Knowledge of drainage networks and associated systems
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Packages, SCADA and Analytics Technology
  • Knowledge of Quality, Health and Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders and staff at all levels within the Organisation
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English is mandatory.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Arabic is preferred
