Introduction

On behalf of our client, a World Leading Energy Company, Brunel is presently recruiting a HSE Specialist Projects for a field-based Health, Safety and Environmental leadership role working across major project activities within a complex operational environment. This will be an onshore FIFO role, 14:14 roster, 12 month contract, preferably open to residential candidates based in WA.

What are you going to do

Working closely with Project Teams and Contractors, you will support the safe execution of construction and installation activities through coaching, assurance, compliance oversight and incident management. This role will play a key part in promoting a strong safety culture while ensuring effective implementation of HSE management systems and safe work practices.

  • Provide HSE leadership, coaching and support to project teams and contractors
  • Conduct HSE audits, inspections and field assurance activities
  • Verify compliance with Permit to Work, Control of Work and isolation requirements, SIMOPS and Control of Work expectations
  • Lead incident investigations and reporting activities
  • Support and mentor contractor HSE personnel
  • Build effective working relationships across Operational and Project Teams
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Health & Safety and/or Environmental qualification OR equivalent experience
  • Extensive HSE experience supporting contractors in project environments
  • Experience working in the execution phase of major projects
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and promote positive safety culture initiatives
  • Strong understanding of Managing Safe Work and Control of Work processes
  • Experience leading audits, inspections, incident investigations and field assurance activities
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications
