What are you going to do
- Responsible for the supervision of contractor's site activities and construction works to ensure compliance with approved scope, approved design, QHSE requirements, execution schedule leading to timely completion, commissioning and handover of assigned projects.
- Responsible for all multi-discipline site construction activities assigned projects.
- Lead a team of Construction Supervisors providing constructability related direction, guidance and advice.
- Control and supervise site construction/installation of project works, including workshop prefabrication works of all disciplines in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and Execution Plan.
- Participate and give input on constructability during feasibility and design stage when requested.
- Assist in mobilization and demobilization of Contractor personnel, equipment and logistics involving Contractors, Sub-contractors and Vendors.
- Randomly inspect construction works and materials in accordance with Work Plans and Inspection Test Plans.
- Co-ordinate, liaise and follow up with relevant parties to resolve complex site issues and raise technical queries for required modifications, as necessary.
- Be a safety leader while performing site construction activities in live plants and ensure site compliance with statutory safety and environmental regulations.
- Proactive with simultaneous operation & construction works in live plants by understanding the End User's constraints/concerns and hence minimizing effects on the project schedule and cost.
- Co-ordinate pre-commissioning activities, assist during commissioning of Department assigned projects and ensure that all Punch List items are cleared in a timely manner.
- Support Qatari development activities by ensuring that Qatari Nationals receive the proper job training and development in order to realize the full potential for local talents and maximize contribution to project success.
Essential skills and knowledge
- BSc. in an Engineering Discipline or Diploma with extensive construction management experience.
- Minimum 18 (Eighteen) years' experience in an appropriate discipline involving construction / installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning of onshore oil and gas projects, including minimum 5 years in similar position.
- Experience in PMC/EPC Organization in LNG/NGL/Refinery and has managed construction, Pre commissioning and Commissioning of major brownfield and green filed project(s).
- Experienced with simultaneous operation & construction works in live plants by understanding the End User's constraints/concerns and hence minimizing effects on the project schedule and cost.
- Computer literate in appropriate software.
- Good knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness. Middle East Experience an advantage
- Good knowledge of construction and QHSE related standards.
- Good ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, lifting/erection plans, construction schedules and drawings.
- Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems related to construction activities and suggest solutions.
- Good communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to supervise a multi-national and multi-cultural workforce.
