Introduction
Brunel is currently searching for a Mine General Manager for our mining client located in Arizona. This is a full-time, site-based position for a large open-pit copper mine focused on heap leach and SX/EW production.
What are you going to do
Duties include but not limited to:
- Foster a safe, efficient workplace that promotes operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Deliver production and financial results aligned with established objectives while ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.
- Lead and coordinate operational activities to support safety and environmental compliance, plant reliability, and operational efficiency in accordance with applicable contracts, policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Develop and implement annual budgets and life-of-mine financial plans.
- Maintain strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, along with industry environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
Requirements:
- Degree or formal qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, or a related discipline.
- More than 10 years of mining industry experience, with preference given to candidates with mine engineering or mineral processing expertise.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing mining and/or processing operations.
- Proven ability to lead, engage, and motivate employees across diverse cultural backgrounds and varying education levels.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, supported by an outstanding safety performance record.
- Strong business acumen with practical operational and financial management experience.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and management reporting capabilities.
- This role is designated as "Safety Sensitive" under the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act and Arizona drug testing regulations**.
