Introduction

As a Firmware Engineer, you will work on the development and maintenance of firmware running on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers used in advanced driver systems. You will be deeply involved in hardware-near software development, where timing, reliability and efficiency are key.

What are you going to do

We are looking for someone with strong affinity for low-level embedded development and close-to-hardware engineering. You are comfortable working in environments where requirements are not always fully defined and where engineering judgement is key.

What will you do?

  • You will design, implement and maintain embedded C firmware in RTOS-based environments (such as FreeRTOS or similar). A significant part of your work will focus on ensuring robust architecture, maintainability and scalability of firmware running on ST and TI-based microcontrollers.
  • You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, system architects and test engineers to ensure seamless integration between firmware and analog/digital electronics. In addition, you will contribute to improving development workflows, test automation and CI/CD pipelines within a growing engineering organization.

Essential skills and knowledge

You are proactive, solution-oriented, and thrive in a less structured, fast-moving environment. You enjoy taking ownership, collaborating across teams, and translating complex technical requirements into practical solutions. Additionally, you have:

  • Experience in firmware software design for embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with production-grade embedded product development cycles.
  • Experience in lab environments with measurement and validation equipment.
  • Exposure to continuous integration for embedded systems.
  • Experience working in cross-functional hardware/firmware teams.

What we offer

You will join a dynamic and international team where autonomy, collaboration, and professional growth are highly valued. You can expect:

  • A gross monthly salary of up to €6.250,- on the basis of a 40h workweek (excluding 8% holiday allowance), depending on experience.
  • Additional benefits such as travel allowance/public transport card, and laptop or smartphone.
  • 26 holiday days, with the option to extend to 40 days.
  • Flexibility and hybrid working options, giving you the freedom to work from home or the office.
  • Extensive training and career development opportunities, including programs via the Brunel Academy.
  • A pension scheme and collective health insurance.
  • Discounts on gyms, cultural activities, and wellness programs.
