Introduction

We are partnering with a global energy organisation to recruit a Financial Analyst for a 12-month contract based in Melbourne Docklands. This role will support financial analysis, reporting, and cost management activities across projects and operations within a complex, fast-paced environment.

What are you going to do

You will provide analytical support to help deliver accurate financial results, forecasts, and reporting. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors, you will assist with project accounting, budget control, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to deliver accurate financial results
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and financial outlooks
  • Monitor project accounting against approved budgets
  • Assist with allocation of funds across projects
  • Validate invoices, expenditures, and budget change requests
  • Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve financial issues
  • Support improvements to cost management processes
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis as required

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Experience in financial analysis and financial reporting
  • Strong data analysis skills with high attention to detail
  • Experience using financial systems and reporting tools
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
