What are you going to do
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Estimator to join a busy pre-construction team. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will assist in the preparation of competitive tenders and cost plans on projects ranging from $10M to $80M.
Initially, you will be involved in community, industrial warehouse, public education, retirement living and aged care projects, working closely with senior estimators, project teams and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
- Prepare take-offs, cost plans and tender estimates.
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Review project documentation, drawings and specifications.
- Assist in preparing tender submissions and bid documentation.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and project risks.
- Maintain pricing databases and market intelligence.
- Work closely with project delivery teams during handover.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
- 3 + years experience as an Estimator with a commercial head contractor.
- Exposure to commercial construction projects valued from $30M+.
- Strong understanding of estimating principles and construction methodologies.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Local experience required for market knowledge
