Perform Telecom/Instrument Engineering activities for scope in Karimun Indonesia up to sailaway, ensuring technical requirements (e.g., project specifications, data sheets, drawings, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardized processes and are delivered to applicable standards.
What are you going to do
Conduct technical evaluations of Telecom/Instrument Engineering, including risk-based evaluation of complex technical issues, which may have a significant impact on project execution or facilities integrity, ensuring they are compliant, technically qualified, and consistent with project and Company requirements.
Required to contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks whilst providing expertise in specialized area.
Minimize or eliminate late activities that could become offshore carry over work or delay sailaway dates.
Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that require effective communication, initiative, flexibility, and an ability to induce collaboration amongst groups that have different decision drivers or leadership behaviors.
Recognize delivery dates for this project.
Ensure Telecom/Instrument Engineering and Procurement activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, project specifications, and any approved variations.
Support the Contractor engineering teams and resolve Telecom/Instrument issues ensuring design addresses each company's expectations and is consistent with Company and Project's objectives.
Coordinate the Telecom/Instrument system purchase orders with Contractor and System Vendor in accordance with the roles and responsibilities in the contract, ensuring safe and seamless integration of systems with no disturbance to existing operating and greenfield facilities.
Develop, update, and amend project philosophies, policies and procedures ensuring all references to Telecom/Instrument Engineering are current and relevant.
Provide Telecom/Instrument Engineering expertise to other disciplines in support of completing and analyzing complex tasks and assignments within schedule and make appropriate recommendations to management on all telecom and instrumentation related issues.
Contribute to facility safety analysis studies including HAZOPs and provide input to support project management in key decisions making.
Plan and schedule the Telecom/Instrument Engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution.
Monitor and appraise Contractor's engineering performance and recommend corrective action to be taken where deficiencies are detected; verify effective actions are implemented.
Review all engineering changes, including justification for cost and schedule impacts, in accordance with the PMOC procedure.
Maintain a register of all telecoms and instrumentation lessons learned
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Eng., Electrical Eng., Electronics Eng., Computer Eng., Systems Eng.
8 years' experience of Telecom/Instrument Engineering, preferably in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.
Experience with major contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry
Experience with LNG projects, Shareholder projects.
Previous Brownfield and Greenfield engineering and execution knowledge in both Offshore and Onshore areas.
Proven working experience with relevant international standards, in particular IEC, IEEE, BS, NFPA, NEC, API etc.
In-depth knowledge in Hazardous area classification for Telecom & Instrument applications.
Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from variety of cultural backgrounds
Worldwide experience with contractors in particular those involved in the construction of Offshore LNG production facilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
