Introduction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to support financial operations within our West Texas business unit. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and analysis of financial data while partnering with operational leaders to support expense, capital and headcount planning.

This position is ideal for a strong accounting professional experienced in general ledger management, GAAP compliance, financial reporting, and forecasting support.

What are you going to do

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post complex journal entries in accordance with GAAP
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts
  • Perform and review complex account reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial performance reports
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes
  • Analyze expense, headcount, and volumetric data to support business targets
  • Collaborate with department leaders to provide financial insights
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures
  • Utilize financial systems and advanced MS Excel for reporting and analysis

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience (Senior Accountant level preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with moderate direction
